New Members meet 27-28 April 2019

@Tom_Blake is this still good for you? Or do you need to leave later - there are still spaces going after work.

@HollyP @tom_blake Tom, don’t want to leave you stranded. If you’re stuck I can still leave later but didn’t hear back from you about leaving earlier than 7. Let me know.

Hello Aidan,
I’d be in need of a ride now that John selfishly stood me up (disclaimer: that was a joke).
Where in West London are you travelling from? 4pm would be great so we don’t arrive too late but let’s see if Tom needs a lift too.

HI Mattia,

I’m near Willesden Junction/ North Acton. I originally said I’d pick people up at Perivale Tube station but I’ve moved since then although I’m still going past the station so could still do Perivale if that suits.

@mikedlr, I decided to stay on in Pembroke so won’t be needing a lift from London.

Hi @tmn - Due to a climber dropping out yesterday we have space for you on the meet  Please check the spreadsheet to choose your lift!

I’ve decided to sit this one out; got to attend to some life business this weekend as I’m off to font next bank holiday! Thanks anyway!

ATTENTION all climbers!

Please read the info below and brand it to memory. It will be rammed in both the cottage and the barn at the weekend so your cooperation is expected in order to avoid complete carnage!

  • Remember to bring your sleeping bag, towel, waterproofs, and climbing gear (including helmet). Plus your own food and beer provisions that aren’t covered by breakfast and Saturday dinner.

  • Please keep all belongings on the racks, rather than in the bedrooms, as there simply won’t be enough space.

  • Outdoor shoes must be removed at the front door. Bring slippers if you want cosy toes.

  • Please abide by the new bin system. There are different bins for different types of waste; new signs will be in each building detailing what goes where. It’s each person’s responsibility to make sure the system works.

  • Cleaning: we are all responsible for cleaning each building and leaving them in a better condition than we found them. Sunday morning is the normal time for this; please do not run off climbing until you have contributed.

Have I missed anything, existing members?!

Looking forward to seeing you all and laughing/crying at how to fit us all in for dinner…WHOOP!

Leave all climbing gear and non hut essential items in your car!

Or the spirit of @chizharward will eat your soul.

I just wrote Holly a PM about this as I didn’t want to wade in especially as a peripheral member but “yeah this”. If genuinely worried about car theft then I guess bring it uphill but putnoutsode round the back of a building rather than inside as clutter and a trip hazard

@HollyP - That’s great!

Regarding the lift. Is there anybody that is going to drive from centralish London or even better from South London with a spare seat? Maybe @Dan or Adam (@adam_b?)?

@jobangles That’s not @mikedlr - probably some other Mike? Michael / @mikedlr is definitely still going and taking @Tui on Thursday. We could fit one more person if they are flexible on timing.

He means he doesn’t need a lift from you Michael. He was originally down as coming with you & Tui.

Oops! Couldn’t have worded that much more confusing way… thanks for translating!

I still have 2-3 seats, so you are more than welcome!

Hi Aidan, that would be awesome, thanks.
Is wilsden junction still good?
Only thing is I was planning to do a food shop for dinner when I still had my car running. Would it be possible to stop at the big Tesco off the motorway on the way up?

Thanks Kieron. Unfortunately I can’t get the time off on Thurs or I would have taken you up on that

Hi John, Wilesden Junction is good and no problem stopping at a Tescos on the way up.

Thanks Aidan,
Might be ok the shopping but good to know if I need to get any extra stuff
