Scotland February 2020 - Cairngorm / Creag Meagaidh

Likewise.
MWIS Outlook https://www.mwis.org.uk/scottish-forecast
Cold westerly winds up to midweek with low freezing levels and accumulations of snow across the mountains. Greatest amounts of snow concentrated on western Scotland. Snow will fall and lie to lower slopes at times. Clusters of showers with hail and chance of local thunder. Often windy with severe chill factor on mountains. Later in the week, generally less cold, with cycles of freeze and thaw resuming. Unsettled into early February, with frequent gales, belts of rain, showers and upland snow at times coming in from the Atlantic.
Could be exciting weather to start the trip but the Cairngorms definitely starting to look snowier.

This weeks photos from our humble accommodation.

just sayin.

What’s the route?

It’s taken about 1/2 way up Staghorn Gully on * Creag Meagaidh. We didn’t complete because a section higher up was badly unfrozen with a stream flowing behind but it’s got potential now the weather has been a bit colder.

We’ve also had The Milky Way, Spiral Gully, The Runnel and Doctors Choice done, though today it’s been a mountain biking day at Wolftrax (something like this red run video).

Winter walking & climbing videos are up on facebook
