Working Meet Autumn 2026 - 17/18 October

Hello folks,

It is now Autumn and the time for looking after our buildings in North Wales is upon us again. Lots and lots to do! Please join us to help keep our properties in good working order.

I am sure the Hut Warden @johnw1 will provide a more definitive list of work in due course, but we need people to:

  • Stack the firewood delivery
  • Deep clean both buildings
  • Clear more undergrowth from the paths
  • Mouseproof the Barn as far as possible
  • Paint and repair window frames
  • Do the laundry

And much more I’m sure! If you’ve not been on a Working Meet or even to the Hut before:

  • bring a sleeping bag
  • bring some clothes you don’t mind getting dirt/paint on
  • Saturday and Sunday breakfast and Saturday dinner are provided by the club - volunteer to cook something on Saturday evening required please!
  • bring climbing gear if the weather looks good, but remember that climbing on a Working Meet is a privilege and not a right, and is entirely dependent on how much work we get done!
  • bring tea, biscuits and a positive attitude

Thanks Matt. I would also add fitting new fly mesh on the skylights. Making a plan for swapping out the kitchen window for a glass door and installing up to date smoke alarms.

No special skills needed, there will be plenty for everyone to do.

Thanks Matt. Have signed up to join. My partner, not a member, has expressed an interest in coming along. She is fairly handy with a drill! Hopefully that’s okay :slight_smile:

would love to join to help! would be my first working meet, I imagine whoever is coordinating the jobs will let us know if any tools/ supplies should be brought with us. I have a fair bit of crap
