Outdoor meets and coronavirus

When local restrictions allow (I’ve not kept up), are there any rules/Committee views on camping on the property around the huts?

The only place we are allowed to camp is the grassy bit by the kitchen window but bear in mind there will be no access to toilets or kitchen.

The committee have been working on plans to reopen the huts, and we should have the properties open for August. This will initially have to be on a household/bubble basis. An email will be going out in the next couple of days with full details of how this will work and how to book.

That’s good news. Perhaps if families could be asked to use only the barn that would open the cottage for others?

Any updates on this?

Just getting ctte sign off on the email and details should be going out shortly. Aim is to have open from 2nd weekend of August.

Hello all, I’m Conor, 28, based in Walthamstow and keen to make some new London based partners to get out climbing. Is anyone keen to climb the weekend after next (18-20th)? Happy to lead up to E3 at the moment, could follow harder. Sea cliff preferred. Happy to take the Friday off to get 3 days in too. Can share my ukc logbook if you’d like to see it.

Have I missed the update re.ckttage and barn use?

I think it’s committee only use at the moment.

@Binit-Shah - On a more serious note😂

We have now implemented a booking system for both properties, with an email notification being sent containing a link to a web form for submitting your dates on. Single family/social bubble on the weekends with gaps in between and no vans/camping as of now.

The draw is random due to demand, but weighted in favour of those who have not had a recent booking to be fair to our members.

Can you please send me your current email address so I can check the mail merges, as it should have gone out to you for Aug and Sept?

Hi Conor,

I live in Walthamstow - was leading around E3 when I broke my leg in May. Am on the road to recovery and was seconding E3 this weekend just gone so we might make a good team…

I’m back training at Yonder as of today. I’ll be there from about 5-8, if you’re a member. Look for the guy in ankle support trying to get his finger strength back…

Hi Paul,

Brilliant! I live just around the corner from Yonder. I won’t be there this week but Monday or Wednesday evening next week I will go. Either of those work for you for a meet up?

Cheers

The email may have found its way into your junk/spam folder - the one I received got placed there annoyingly!

Yep, I’ll be there pretty religiously for the next few months trying to get myself back up to speed just in time for Lockdown 2 / all the crags to be wet for 3 months.

Membership list email for October Barn and Cottage booking has been sent, please check you junk folders in case it has been moved there.
