NLMC North Wales Meet 9-10th August

A rare official summer meet to our home away from home. Time to tick off that mountain multi-pitch route you’ve had your eye on for ages, push your sport grade in the slate quarries, hop on some sea cliffs in Gogarth, or catch some rays at Tremadog. North Wales is an amazing place!

Meet type: Trad or Sport.

When: 9-10th August

Location: Sunny North Wales

Experience level: Any

Equipment required: Basic climbing and abseiling kit (helmet, harness, belay device, rock shoes, personal anchor and prusik loops (x2) and ideally some additional personal kit (slings, carabiners). Rack and ropes if you have them.

Signup: NLMC North Wales 9-10th August 2025 - Google Sheets

Accommodation: We’re staying at the club cottage in Capel Curig. It sleeps 25 and we’re limiting numbers on the officla meet to 18 people to allow for a few other members who aren’t clued in to this meet turning up. If you are a club member, reading this, and you’d like to come to the hut this weekend, please put your name down on the sheet! Let’s avoid running out of beds.

Transport: As usual please look at the sign-up sheet and arrange transportation usually via sending a DM to your preferred driver. Please update spreadsheet once you’ve agreed a lift.

Thanks Ben!

I’ve popped my name down. I’ll sleep in the car, mostly because I like sleeping in the car, but also to free up bed space.

Cheers Ben!

Brilliant! And bonkers!

Unless the weather is atrocious, I’ll come along and sleep in the van. Will add name to list for pub bookings, etc

I’m considering staying until Friday 15th… anyone else?

Myself and 2 mates from Inverness will be there until the next weekend. @neptune is joining us, but more the merrier!

I’m also planning to stay a bit longer, depending on weather and probably only til mid-week.

Excited to join for my first NLMC meet! I’m also up for staying longer until Friday

Guys…I know we had a cap on the numbers at 18 but this is proving popular so the cottage is likely going to be bursting due to high demand!
We are an awesome lively active club, I am so happy.

I see this is oversubscribed; I added myself to the end in hopes that someone drops out!

Same for me, would like to join if space becomes available! Have added my name to the end of the list.

There’s always camping at the nearby roadside campsite if hut beds are a problem.

One could camp by the hut, I guess.

Not really, since it’s national park land, and we’d get in trouble as a club.

No camping for me, thanks!

I thought the club owns that space, the hut and barn.

We do, but it’s still national park land that you can’t camp on.
