Places are strictly limited to 22 people. We only have use of the cottage, not the barn too, so everyone will be sleeping in the cottage unless you make other plans. If the meet is oversubscribed we will prioritise new/prospective members who have not been on a meet before.
If the meet is oversubscribed we will also need to ensure we have enough suitably experienced members around to take new/prospective members out.

NB: if you are new to the club you will need to climb with us on a Monday evening at the Castle before the meet, so we can ensure minimum safety skills are met.

Unfortunately cant make this. But for all aspiring trad leaders in my humble opinion this vid is a great resource with a lot of good tips in one place.

Perhaps using a tether might not be used much here in blighty and a lot of talking points!

Have an awesome safe time out!

So far we are only 9 signed up for this weekend meet. The weather is looking really wet and windy over the whole weekend, so it is very unlikely we will be able to do any climbing outdoor. I personally don’t think it is worth driving 6h one way to climb on plastic in a gym, nor I feel the need for hiking in the rain. However I think it is fair to ask for everyone’s opinion.

  • Go anyway and hike in the rain
  • Cancel and meet at a wall in London with a lunch for a bit of social?
  • Postpone to a later date (if calendar allows)

Maybe we could co-opt the Gower meet on 27-28 September to be new-member-friendly? I was already planning/hoping to go to that. And/or a social meet up in London sounds nice to me too

I’m keen to come to a new member meet but frustratingly couldn’t make this one due to a wedding.

That’s a possibility indeed! I won’t be here but I am told there are a lot of routes in the low grades.

Jack, no worries you are not missing on much. There will be other opportunities I am sure!

Hi all happy to postpone and/or can also meet up this weekend in London - agree not worth going up but I’m flexible otherwise
