Hi all,
just a short note to say that the Cottage FAILED its annual gas inspection today, there is a possible leak and some hoses need replacing. We are getting the fitter back to fix it all and sign it off this Wednesday, but until then the gas is out of action for obvous reasons. DO NOT USE IT!
There are four electric rings on the cooker, so please use them if you are up there.
Apologies for the inconvenience, this is why we have the gas checked out!

Thought we could smell gas earlier this year
Hi Richard, yep, there was a report of a smell of gas a while back -and we got the gas fitter round who checked it all out and couldn’t find any leak at that time. This was the annual gas safety check, maybe this time he used a bigger match?
Must have been enormous. As the actress said to the bishop.
The plumber has been and sorted the gas -new hoses and regulators and a new pipe through the wall. The gas system has PASSED its safety checks and you can again fry 12 pans of bacon at a time.
Thanks for sorting that out Chiz. It’s good to know we can fry safely now.

PS just a gentle reminder that it is everyone’s responsibility to leave the Cottage clean and tidy when they leave. It was apparently not left in an acceptable state after last weekend.
Don’t just leave it to the last person to stay, have a quick chat about who will do what to clean, tidy up and take rubbish and recycling away. It doesnt take much time or effort. Mike does NOT clean the cottage. It is members’ responsibility,
