Some notable items from the meeting, in case anyone is interested, in no particular order:
BMC have published a consultation on their Club Strategy report and are taking feedback on this until Fri 27 March.
BMC owns Harrison’s Rocks & Stone Farm Rocks. They’re having a Stone Farm Rocks working meet this weekend, so if you can’t make it to North Wales for our working meeting this weekend, you might want to pop along to this.
There’s going to be a Southern Sandstone Festival on Sat 12 Sept. Festival will include a Climbing Skills session including how to set up anchors properly - particular useful for those new to climbing outdoors on sandstone.
Outdoor first aid courses in Shadwell, £70 for NLMC members (similar courses can cost twice this amount): 25-26 April, 20-21 June.
The London Mountain Film Festival is running 2-3 May, @ The Royal Geographical Society. So far the programme seems to have more talks than films, with plenty of big climbing names programmed.
The Big Bang with Emma Twyford screening is happening on Sat 28 March @ The Castle
The film Climbing Blind will be on limited general release in the cinemas from Fri 20 March onwards.
For those new to mountaineering: this year’s BMC Alpine Skills lecture is on Thu 7 May @ St Paul’s School
The next BMC London & SE area meet will be on Tue 19 May at House of Lords, with a particular focus on countryside access issues.
Thanks Manchi!
