Autumn Working Meet 25

Hi everyone, the next working meet is coming up.

If you’ve not been before it’s a great chance to meet up and get the properties looking good and running well for the coming months.

Dates: 11th 12th October

What we are doing: Besides the the usual maintenance work, Martin is going to take charge of re- doing the cottage kitchen ceiling. This will involve stripping off the old boards (very messy!) and replacing with plasterboard. This will be a really nice improvement.
We will also be getting a new supply of wood in and there will probably be some work to do clearing away some of the summer growth around the grounds.

As usual the club will be providing breakfast and a communal meal on Saturday evening to reward is for all the hard work. Bring food for lunches though.

I’m free and happy to come up and help with whatever needs doing.
I don’t have transport though, and would need a lift with someone!

Does anyone know the dimensions of the cutlery tray we need? I’d be great if we could replace it this working meet

Should be up there this weekend, will take measurements

Hi. Thanks to all those who have signed up.

Two changes of plan: the ceiling work will not be going ahead now.

I can’t make it for the meet myself as I have an exhibition opening in London that weekend. It was a last minute thing. So apologies for that.

I will work out a list of other things that need doing.

No worries John, we’ll get it done. Only 7 people signed up though, come on folks, please give back a little and help us out! We probably need another driver from London at least

i have time and happy to come and help.
I put myself in Jon’s car. I hope this is ok.

I can’t make this weekend, but will be up at the cottage 14-17th. Happy to do a couple of jobs if you don’t get everything done. Just please text me with any details/include me in the WA group.

Hi everyone,

I’d love to be able to come but unfortunately I’m abroad over this weekend.

Hope it goes well,

Tom

I’m a strong maybe - just confirming with Isla and her mum if I’m expected at her birthday party at TopGolf next weekend - not sure!

It’s that age now (14) where I’m probably more embarrassing than cool …and it’s her mum’s weekend too, so just checking the vibe as her actual birthday not til end of the month.

Is there a job list? Add to the other sheet on the spreadsheet would be handy in case need to bring specific tools.

I’ve got a reasonable set of tools, drills/drivers, jigsaw/multi-tool, so can cover most DIY inside and out, including wiring (though not qualified obvs) generally quite handy as Dad was a builder.

Hi guys!
I’m driving but it’s a weird one as I’m working nights. I would prefer to leave on friday night 2am or Saturday same hour, and return on Tuesday evening (back in London around 6pm)

I’m going, if you want picking up from Tring or MK let me know. Van has been behaving!:crossed_fingers:t2:

Oh dear. Looks like no car space from London.
Good luck with it all. Hopefully its a small list!
Cheers
Martin

WhatsApp community group chat now available “NLMC Working Meet 2025”

Let’s get the show on the road, literally - we need cars people!!! (Or get yourself to mine, or travel at crazy times with Roman :sob:)

I’d also like to know if anyone else is driving from London on Friday eve? :eyes:

@Adam_Craig - what time would you be leaving Tring area?
A bit far for me on a working day but will make it work if no drivers from London!

I should be able to make it and drive from London, touch wood, have put my name on the spreadie

@RolandP Thanks for pitching in. Unfortunately I cant now make the weekend. Sorry.

I’ve put my name down to go with you from MK! That’s probably the most efficient way for me to cut some of the Friday evening London traffic… Aiming to be there for 18:30.

Anyone doing the cooking?

Hi Richard,

At the moment opinion on the Whatsapp is veering towards going to the pub for dinner…

Breakfast is being bought by Jon’s car - let me know if you and Valerie are included in that or doing your own thing :slightly_smiling_face:

Cheers
Matt
