Anyone fancy joining me in Chamonix for this weekend - climbing/alpine during the day, and join the free talks in the eve, fellow crazies etc?
[I missed out on tickets for the paid sessions again, but it’s still a class weekend]
Flexible on days etc - fly in straight after work (and back on the first morning flight in time for work), hire car, cheap booking.com apartment/airbnb/etc - don’t mind driving & booking for all.
Was thinking of booking this week, or next before the prices go up.
I’ll be there, I always stay in the same place in Cham so have already booked that and will have to look at flights but I was thinking of arriving in Geneva at some point on Thursday the 29th and flying out Monday 3 July…
Hi Sam, nice one - interested in sharing a car? I’m basically up for a bunch of days climbing (or mixed) out there, and while there’s a transfer bus, if the weather is bad, or the first gondola/crags are rammed, it’s always nice to be able to head just outside the valley or even further afield. I’ve got some friends out there who managed to buy tickets but will be hard to get out for climbing during the day it seems.

Hey Andrew. So it seems I’ll be flying into Geneva from Italy on the Wednesday (28th) and out of Geneva on the Monday (3rd). I have clinics booked on the Saturday and Sunday but would be keen to get out on the Thursday and Friday for acclimatisation. I’ll mainly be there to get out mountaineering so that may not suit you if you want to go cragging? If my dates work for you I’d be happy to share a car, haven’t actually booked flights yet as I need to confirm my plans… Let me know what you think, if nothing else we should at very least meet for drinks?
Hey Sam, unfortunate timing - I booked my flights a day ago (flying in Thursday eve and returning Monday morning). Up for alpinism too, but during those days I would have thought any ADs and below would be rammed from first lift. Not too fussy on routes/crags/locations - as long as I can do the climbs in some shape or form
Definitely should meet up one way or another!
